Reports are suggesting that the new 2015 Nissan Altima will bring updated styling with few small changes and a new hybrid model. This mid-size sedan could be a significant improvement over the previous version and will certainly be more interesting for many drivers since it will offer hybrid powertrain.

Altima’s styling will change in some minor degree and will include improvements to nose and tail. Front fascia may be slightly reshaped and perhaps new grille will be inserted. Third option is hybrid engine. Main goal of hybrid engine is to achieve maximum fuel economy and minimal exhaust emissions with no loss in performance. This powertrain will come with 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit teamed with a 15-kilowatt electric motor with at this moment these are only estimations and we still do not have any official data.

What is interesting we could hear that hybrid will come with supercharged engine and that total power that this powertrain will be able to deliver is 218 hp which is more than enough for most drivers. Transmission is a CVT (continuously variable transmission) which is automatic transmission but with a pulley system instead of a fixed number of gear ratios. The 2015 Nissan Altima Hybrid will be equipped with Dual Clutch System, which manages power from gas engine and electromotor. Front wheel drive will be offered in all 2015 models.

This model should be available in showrooms before the end of 2014th while the sales also should start before the year end.
