It is almost impossible for anyone not to know which vehicle Willy is. This is one of the most popular vehicles ever and we could see it in many movies. When it comes to a standard version Jeep created Civilian Jeep or CJ model and we can say that the 2015 Jeep Wrangler comes as a successor to this car.
After the initial launch it achieved pretty good sale results and later it became one of the most famous American SUVs staying in production until 1986. In 1986 it was replaced with Jeep Wrangler made in American Motors facility in Ontario, Canada. Unlike rouged Jeep CJ, Wrangler featured increased amount of comfort inside the cabin and more classic SUV shape.
When Jeep Wrangler replaced Jeep CJ it was done to attract regular paved road drivers, because Jeep CJ was exclusively an off-road vehicle with little to none interior comfort and elegant notes on its exterior. Jeep division did a good job when it comes to Wrangler, but it still kept some of the old characteristics that were part of this vehicles concept since the original Willy.
Changes For 2015 Jeep Wrangler
One of those that remained as a legacy is the super heavy frame and construction. That’s definitely something that will need to change in future models. There are rumors that say the 2015 Jeep Wrangler will come with new aluminum body-panels that will decrease its weight drastically making it much more fuel efficient and better in performance segment.
The 2015 Jeep Wrangler model will come with some good old Jeep interior features, like removable tops for example, plus few things for technological geeks. Last Wrangler had too much hard plastic in its interior, so we hope this is going to change with this new model. It is a five passenger vehicle and is offered with cloth upholstery, but leather upholstery comes as additional option, as well as heated front seats. It comes with e-touch infotainment system, Bluetooth, few USB ports and Alpine stereo system.
Wrangler is famous for being very capable when it comes to off-road terrains. It comes with 3,6 liter V6 engine that can deliver 285 horsepower and it is paired with five speed automatic transmission. Last year’s model had average fuel efficiency; it could reach 17 mpg in city conditions and 21 mpg on the highway (estimated by EPA). We hope this year’s model fuel efficiency is going to be drastically increased, since there are rumors about new lighter aluminum body panels but we do not expect to see any miracles.
2015 Jeep Wrangler Release Date
Wrangler was never too expensive, last year’s model could be bought for $22,400 and the 2015 Jeep Wrangler price is probably going to be increased a bit, but we don’t expect it is going to go far up. Most likely this will be priced at $22,595 for a Sport trim level in combination with Manual transmission. Top of the trim models like Unlimited Rubicon with automatic transmission will cost about $36,495. There are still no information about the release date of 2015 Jeep Wrangler, so these are just our assumptions.
