Exterior styling is angular and beefy which is a combination that emphasizes power. Up front, GMC Sierra has chrome-bound rectangular grille with chrome mesh in top Denali models. Boxy headlights and chrome bumper are also part of a front end fascia, while lifted angular wheel arches can be seen from the profile.
Inside, Sierra is spacious enough and offers some sturdy parts around the driver which can be overwhelming at times. Nice looking materials which are soft to the touch were used in it and in higher grades you’ll also find wood and metallic accents with leather-wrapped seats. Heavy dash has a wide instrument panel which sits above the big cubicle and couple of cup holders. 8-inch color touch screen can be found on some SLE and all SLT models, while entry models get smaller 4.2-inch color display. If you opt for a 6.3L engine, you’ll also get standard 6 speakers or optional Bose 7-speaker system.
Safety ratings are high and all 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 come with standard airbags, stability control, trailer-sway control and hill-start assist. Rearview camera is available as standard or optional piece of equipment, depending on a trim level, and so are front and rear parking sensors. Safety package adds lane-departure warning and forward-collision alert which round up safety features.
The 4.3 liter V6 engine is rated to 18/24 mpg with RWD or 17/22 mpg with 4WD. V8 returns slightly lower numbers at 16/23 mpg or 16/22 mpg with RWD and 4WD respectively, while the biggest 6.2L V8 should take you as far as 15/21 mpg or 14/20 mpg, again with either RWD or 4WD.
