Ford’s F-150 full size truck comes redesigned for the 2015, with lower weight, improved fuel economy and additional engine choices. This certainly is a great move from this car company and already we could hear that many customers approve changes that the 2015 Ford F-150 will offer.
The most significant change is all new aluminum body, for which Ford promises to be tougher than ever. Materials used allowed designers to make more aerodynamic exterior, but still keep the Ford signature and original look. While sitting just slightly wider than ongoing model, it still has its hood creases and headlight design, while the grille is bigger and broader-spaced. Chrome work is centered on the front bumper, not spread all the way around giving it more refined and elegant look.
2015 Ford F-150 Release Date
Inside, there’s Fords vista roof, while the front seats are both heated and cooled to further improve comfort. Additional width combined with slimmer doors made the interior more comfortable for passengers and fatigue free even on longer journeys. Interior styling is completely different and much better than before, we are able to see materials that feel more like from luxuries vehicles. There’s also a large 8-inch screen that can display all necessary information customized by the driver. Ford will offer self-parking as a new option, which allows truck to parallel park itself.
There is a choice of four available engines in 2015 Ford F-150. One of them is all new turbocharged 2.7 liter EcoBoost V-6 that offers automatic stop/start function for reduction of gas usage in traffic. Those who are looking towards towing and hauling duties there will be the choice between the updated 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 engine, the familiar 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, as well as, 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V-8. All of these engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, and available with front wheel drive or all-wheel drive configuration.
The 2015 Ford F-150 will be offered in 3 different cab configurations: Regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew cab. Regular cab models are 4 inches shorter in length, therefore they have little less storage space behind the rear seats. Rear-seat access is improved on the SuperCrew and SuperCab, and there are various options of the bed sizes. All tow rates will be improved on this new model because of reduced weight of the truck itself, this also means that handling and performances will be further improved.
Some of the new features that will be offered are: power-locking rear tailgate with remote opening, LED box lighting and LED spotlight mirrors, 360° camera system (improving maneuvering in tight parking spaces, job sites and trails), 400W power plugs etc. Safety features include lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control and front radar to automatically pre-engage the brakes in the case of a potential collision with incoming vehicle. Even the frame is made of aluminum, engineers from Ford say that the 2015 Ford F-150 will come as strong as before or even stronger.
