The Impala has been with us for more than 50 years now and Chevrolet is trying to improve it each year with a few minor additions. The 2015 Chevrolet Impala sticks to the rule and it will be a small facelift of the current Impala with an improved engine and a better price. The base model will start at around $27.000 and it will go up to around $40.000,
Price most depends on the trim level and equipment and top of the line CNG models will cost much more than standard versions. Other than that prices for standard models are almost identical to its main competitors so we can say that it will be pretty competitive on this strong market segment.
2015 Chevrolet Impala Review
Just as the current generation, the car will feature three engine options. The 2.4 liter petrol engine with a small electric motor that helps with city driving is offered in hybrid model. This unit develops 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. The other petrol engine is a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder that is a bit more powerful, at 195 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine will be the 3.6 liter V6 that is good for 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to improved engine management system and small design tweaks 2015 Chevrolet Impala will achieve a fuel consumption of around 27 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway for the hybrid model while the more powerful V6 will get around 20 MPG in the city and as much as 30 MPG on the highway.
Transmission wise, there will either be a 6 speed automatic unit with eAssist (that is only used on the hybrid model) or a normal 6 speed automatic with the possibility of changing the gears manually. Both of them are really smooth and very relaxing while driving but none of them offers too much feedback when changing gears.
Changes For 2015 Chevrolet Impala
Over the current generation, the 2015 Chevrolet Impala won’t change too much. You will still get as standard the small 4.1 inch display that offers information about the current trip, the weather or doubles up as a mileage counter. On the center console there is an optional 8 inch screen that controls the premium audio system as well as the satellite navigation. Both the front and rear seats are heated while only the front seats ventilated. Leather upholstery comes as standard on the mid-range models while the base one gets a very nice cloth upholstery.
The car matured a lot during these many years of service and became one of the few cars on the market that offers a complete package. The 2015 Chevrolet Impala has a more aggressive look than ever before, the Xenon headlights as well as the LED tail lights look great on it while the general stance of the car make it stand out from the crowd. Latest reports suggest that the sales will start at the beginning of 2015 and since we already have pretty much all the most important details we think that this might happen even during this year.
