The 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is the mid-size crossover SUV. It is made in Ontario, Canada in CAMII facility owned by Chevrolet. This crossover is based on the same platform like models from Suzuki, Pontiac and GMC that are in crossover segment and it’s in production since 2005.
First model of this brand was labeled as the small crossover SUV, and during its 10 year production it grew to become a mid-size crossover. It is a family oriented vehicle which doesn’t offer some top of the line features, but is good enough to safely transfer your family from point A to point B which is one of the most important features for many buyers that are interested in this and similar models.
2015 Chevrolet Equinox Colors
One of the advantages that the new model offers is the wide choice of color options and we simply need to mention this. Chevrolet offers Equinox in these colors: Crystal Red, Black, Black Granite Metallic, Ashen Gray Metallic, Tungsten Metallic, Atlantis Blue Metallic, Silver Topaz Metallic, Champagne Silver Metallic, White Diamond, Silver Ice Metallic and Summit White. Choice of eleven colors will allow every buyer to choose the one that is perfect match for their needs.
The 2015 Chevrolet Equinox doesn’t offer any revolutionary design features or aerodynamic and sporty lines we can often see on modern crossover SUVs. Chevrolet Equinox is made to be a family oriented crossover, and that’s how it is designed too. Looks little bit too boxy, with standard Chevy front and edgy details in the rear part. Overall impression is that the company could do even more in this segment but still is quite good.
Chevrolet Equinox can take up to 7 passengers and it looks like a smaller version of Chevrolet Traverse. Dimensions allow it to have spacey interior comparable to the rest of vehicles in its class, although it can never compete with spacious Traverse. Its smaller dimensions prove to be quite beneficial when parking and if you have a smaller family, and a third row of seats is not necessary when driving around, we think that Equinox would be a good choice. It has a cabin with a good sound insulation which can be compared with Buick or Cadillac and not so top of the line materials from which interior was made.
Specs Of 2015 Chevrolet Equinox
At this point there are two engines in the lineup which will allow every family to get their own combination that suits them best. In basic version Equinox comes with 2,4 liter, four cylinder engine which delivers 182 horsepower and can reach from 0-60 mph in 9 seconds which is not so bad. Although, if you need some stronger engine for off-road rides we would suggest you to choose powerful 3,6 liter V6 with 301 horsepower. You can also choose between front and 4 wheel drive and between manual and automatic transmission. Rumors and reports suggest that the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox could be also delivered with a smaller turbocharged gasoline engine but currently we do not have any details about it.
Price of this vehicle is not announced yet, although we think it is not going to be too much different from 2014 Chevrolet Equinox model which went from $24,000 to $33,000. Slight adjustments and increase is expected but nothing large. With this price range it will remain competitive on the market and that is one of the most important things for Chevy. It is expected that new model is delivered in the next few months and that the sales will start before the end of this year.
Small crossover class is becoming more and more popular in the United States as buyers realize the advantages that these models offer. Big SUVs are too expensive to handle and need a lot more gasoline, while these smaller vehicles can accommodate all your family members and they are much easier to drive in the city and sometimes very fuel efficient.
